Facilitator, Theatre and Conflict Transformation workshop at Corrymeela Community, Northern Ireland as part of the British Council’s Active Citizens project, run by Together 4 Peace, Leeds.
Active Citizens is a British Council initiative, for which T4P is a local partner. The project connects and supports organisations and adults (especially young adults) involved in local initiatives that benefit their community. It aims to provide them with tools and assistance to develop their intercultural skills, to run social action projects in their local area, to gain an international perspective on community-led development, and to share ideas and practice. As part of the T4P Active Citizens project 2013, 21 adult participants from Leeds spent a residential weekend together at Corrymeela Community in Northern Ireland in November. During this residential weekend, I facilitated a workshop using Forum Theatre and drama improvisation tools to enable participants to explore perceptions and experiences around culture, identity and conflict.
