Facilitator, six day training course in Forum Theatre and conflict transformation. Developed and delivered in partnership with St. Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace, with a guest session by Adrian Jackson of Cardboard Citizens.
This six week course was aimed at people working to facilitate community cohesion (youth workers, church workers, community organisers, activists, applied theatre practitioners) and provided 12 participants with an introductory training in Forum Theatre with an emphasis on conflict transformation. Components of the course included an exploration of violence, conflict and the difference between them, understanding different types and levels of violence, using theatre improvisation to explore conflict, storytelling and practical tools for creating Forum Theatre pieces. It culminated with participants performing their Forum Theatre pieces to a small audience and having them jokered.
Project developed while employed by Fellowship of Reconciliation, England.
